Post Harvest Manager

We are looking for a POST HARVEST MANAGER to run our Post Harvest department to ensure our product is of the highest craft quality. 

Responsibilities would include: 
  • Manage all Post Harvest activities including staffing and all activities in multiple drying and processing rooms. 
  • Working with the CEO to ensure all training materials are provided to Post Harvest team and followed. • Must work in a timely manner and strive to increase productivity. 
  • Use necessary tools to measure and record harvest and post harvest input data for the Quality Assurance (QA) team as required by Health Canada. 
  • Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures for the Good Production Practices (GPP) operations at all times. 
  • Train staff on standard operating procedures for the Good Production Practices (GPP) and ensure all staff follow the SOPS at all times. 
  • Ensure personnel development and performance management planning for all direct and indirect reports, including ongoing proficiency training and smooth onboarding of new employees. 
  • Manage safe work conditions and practices within the post harvest area. Enforce company safety, health and environmental policies. 
  • Ensure that all sanitation tasks are completed as per the SOPs. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. 
  • Coordinate with the Facility Manager on preventive maintenance schedule to avoid unnecessary down time or impacts to the operational schedule. 
  • Work with appropriate team members to continuously develop and improve post harvest safety standards and procedures. 
  • Ensure that security measures are maintained and report product loss promptly. 
  • Communicate effectively with other department managers, supervisors, and employees to ensure timely resolution of problems and accomplishments of post harvest department and company objectives. 
  • Other duties as required. 
Qualifications: 
  • Have or be able to obtain a security clearance. 
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet productivity and performance requirements. 
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail. 
  • High computer literacy. 
  • Previous Cannabis related experience not necessary but is an asset. 
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks. 
  • Ability to work in a highly regulated environment. 
  • Knowledge of cannabis industry equipment and OH&S regulations 
  • Be able to work in a physically demanding work environment. 
  • Remaining in a standing position for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to focus on repetitive tasks. 
  • Hand and finger dexterity required for extended periods. 
  • Consistent hand-eye coordination. 
  • Wearing gloves and other required PPE for extended periods when required. 
  • Working environment can have strong cannabis smells. 
  • Exposure to pollen, allergens, and chemical pesticides in the grow facility or greenhouse. 
  • Work environments that include exposure to, but not limited to, chemicals, fumes, dust, odors, extreme heat temperatures, heights, indoor AC, no AC, motion, noise, protective gear, vibrations, and water. 
Position: 
  • Full-time, Fredericton, NB 
  • Overtime is required during peak times and to meet deadlines 
  • Compensation commensurate with education and experience.
